Bengaluru: Senior Congress leader and MLC B K Hariprasad on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that Modi lacks even one percent of the courage that former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had displayed during her tenure.
Addressing the media in Bengaluru, Hariprasad recalled the 1971 Indo-Pak war and said, “Indira Gandhi withstood immense international pressure and succeeded in halting the genocide in Bangladesh. She never allowed any foreign power, including the US President, to dictate India’s stance on Pakistan.”
He alleged that Prime Minister Modi’s foreign policy has left India diplomatically isolated. “Instead of taking a firm stand, Modi is only delivering speeches to deflect criticism,” Hariprasad said.
Referring to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Congress MLC questioned the silence of the Prime Minister. “There are many unanswered questions after the terror strike, but the PM remains quiet. Where was he when the Indian forces responded to the attack? Why is there no clarity on the government’s position?”
Hariprasad further criticised Modi for not addressing former US President Donald Trump’s claim that he personally brokered a ceasefire during a previous India-Pakistan tension. “India has never bowed its head before any power. But now, the situation is such that our sovereignty seems to be under threat,” he said.
He concluded by saying that under Modi’s leadership, India’s global standing has weakened, and its independent voice has diminished.
