ICC Chairman Jay Shah took to Instagram on Friday to express solidarity with the Indian armed forces amid rising cross-border tensions . In his Instagram story, Shah posted:

"Our armed forces are our pride and no words are enough to express their valour and commitment in protecting our motherland and people.
We salute our brave men and women in the armed forces who are shielding our nation from terrorism.
Let us unite to honour our heroes and build a stronger more united India."

Shah’s message follows a series of aerial attacks launched by Pakistan on Jammu, Rajasthan and several military installations near the western border. The attempted strikes, involving drones and missiles, were successfully intercepted by India’s air defence systems.

The attack triggered widespread blackouts and sirens across Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan, with authorities urging residents to stay indoors as emergency protocols were activated.

These strikes were launched post Operation Sindoor , an Indian military operation targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan believed to be behind the April massacre of 26 tourists — 25 Indians and one Nepali — in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir.

The growing security concerns have also impacted the ongoing Indian Premier League. On Thursday, the match 58 between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was cancelled midway following air raid alerts in Jammu and Pathankot. In light of the situation, the BCCI has suspended the IPL for one week.
