Manchester United will not be held to ransom as they attempt to resolve Ruben Amorim's four-man bomb squad dilemma. United are seeking purchasers for exiled quartet Jadon Sancho, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia. Amorim has excluded all four from first-team training sessions whilst the transfer window remains active.
However, despite interest in the entire group, United are rejecting bids for players who collectively cost over £170million in transfer fees. An Old Trafford source revealed: "Of course it's not ideal to have senior players training away from the first-team group.
"But until offers are received that meet our valuations then the situation remains the same. Some clubs might feel that we will be happy to do business at any price but that isn't the case.
"The manager has said he will look to reintroduce any or all of them back to the squad if they are still United players when the window closes. Situations like these tend to be resolved late in the day."
United's banished quartet are draining the club of approximately £500,000-a-week in salaries.
Marcus Rashford was permitted to join Barcelona on loan for the campaign when the Spanish giants agreed to a £30million purchase option next summer and assumed responsibility for the England star's full wages.
Rashford subsequently accepted a 25 per cent reduction in his £325,000-a-week earnings to facilitate the move.
Sancho, who spent the previous season on loan at Chelsea, has attracted interest from Roma but his £250,000-a-week salary remains problematic. Real Betis are keen to sign Antony following his impressive loan spell, but they can't afford the £30million asking price or his £130,000-a-week wages.
Garnacho is on Chelsea's radar, but the London club believe United's £50million valuation is too steep.
Meanwhile, Malacia is drawing attention from clubs in Holland, Italy and Germany.
