It's got to the time of year when many households are having daily arguments about whether to put the heating on. As cold as it might get inside some homes, energy bills are increasing once again, and it can be hard to justify the extra cost of using the central heating.
However, a quality portable heater can not only keep everyone nice and toasty, but save money on bills, too. Amazon has a deal on the Dreo 16 Inch Electric Heater for Home - now £63.74 down from £74.99. Shoppers say it keeps them warmer than their gas heating does.
The heater is said to warm up in seconds with adjustable temperatures between 5 and 35 degrees Celsuis, and thanks to its 70° wide-angle oscillation, it can heat an entire room.
The heater also has a built-in 12-hour timer, so users can set it up to warm their bedroom before going to sleep, safe in the knowledge that it will turn itself off for safety. Plus, with a sleek black and gold design, it won't look out of place no matter how fancy shoppers' home decor is.
If this heater isn't calling out to shoppers, they could try the larger Blyss NDK20-24AF 2000Wmodel from ScrewFix. This one has a built-in turbo function and two heating levels with an adjustable mechanical thermostat, and is suitable for spaces up to 20m².
Alternatively, Currys has the RUSSELL HOBBS Portable Convector Heater for £34.99 down from £39.99. This sleek black heater has three heat settings, a remote control and an adjustable thermostat, and has carry handles that make it easy to transport.
However, shoppers who have bought the Dreo Heater from Amazon have left thousands of five-star reviews. One buyer said: "Outstanding heater - small but powerful. We had a gas heater issue at home and had to replace the entire system.
"We bought this heater just as a temporary solution while the plumbing work took place. It turns out it heats better and faster than the gas-powered radiators. Definitely recommend."
Another said: "Love this heater, perfect size for my bedroom, small but powerful heat, and it oscillates. It looks attractive and is light and easy to move around with very little noise."
A third added: "Really cheap compared with a Dyson and does exactly the same job. However, some found it wasn't right for their needs.
One shopper said: "I bought to replace an unsightly infrared heater. This one is definitely more stylish and has a smaller footprint, but not as effective as heating. It does still make a decent temperature difference to a small living room though." Another added: "Says it's quiet but still very noticeable. Not unbearable, but the room suddenly feels quiet when it's off.
