A shocking twist has emerged in the murder case of Dr. Krithika M. Reddy, who was allegedly killed by her husband, Dr. Mahendra Reddy G.S., in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Police investigations have revealed that Mahendra contacted nearly half a dozen women just months after his wife’s death — even proposing marriage to several of them.
According to police sources, Mahendra confessed to one of the women that he had murdered his wife. A Times of India report stated that he sent disturbing messages to four or five women, including one medical professional, saying, “I killed my wife for you.”
Messages Sent Through PhonePe
The woman to whom Mahendra confessed had blocked him on several apps. However, he later messaged her through the PhonePe app, where he made his shocking confession. Investigators say Mahendra was trying to initiate contact with multiple women in hopes of remarrying after Krithika’s death.
Police confirmed that Dr. Mahendra murdered Krithika by administering anesthesia on April 24, 2025. He was later arrested in Udupi district on October 14.
Devices Seized, Messages Retrieved
Police recovered Mahendra’s mobile phone and laptop, which were sent for forensic analysis. DCP Whitefield stated that messages exchanged between Mahendra and one of the women were found during the probe. The woman confirmed to the police that she had blocked Mahendra before his marriage to Krithika and had no role in the crime.
Connection With a Mumbai Woman
Investigations also uncovered that Mahendra had been in contact with a woman from Mumbai until 2023. He had proposed to her multiple times. Later, in a strange twist, he had his father call the woman to falsely inform her that Mahendra had died. However, in September 2025, Mahendra reconnected with her and claimed he was alive. He allegedly told her that “his horoscope had predicted his first wife’s death,” and now that it had come true, he wished to marry her.
Krithika’s Death and the Complaint
Krithika married Mahendra on May 26, 2024, in Bengaluru. Her father, K. Muni Reddy (60), a businessman, filed the murder complaint against his son-in-law. Both Krithika and Mahendra were doctors — she held an MBBS and MD, while he was also a practicing physician.
According to the complaint, after marriage, Mahendra allegedly harassed Krithika and pressured her family to fund the construction of a new hospital. On April 21, 2025, he reportedly administered an intravenous sedative to Krithika, claiming it was for stomach discomfort. Later, he gave her another dose, after which she was found unconscious the next morning.
