The UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) app allows Indian citizens to access various government services in one place. One such important service is the ability to check your EPF (Employees’ Provident Fund) passbook. This can help you keep track of your monthly savings, interest earned, and employer contributions. Here's how you can do it in a few simple steps.
Step 1: Download the UMANG App
To begin, download the UMANG app on your mobile device. It is available on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Once downloaded, open the app and register using your mobile number. Create a 4-digit MPIN to log in securely.
Step 2: Link Your UAN to the App
Before you can view your passbook, you must link your UAN (Universal Account Number) to the app.
Here’s how:
Open the UMANG app.
Tap on EPFO under the “All Services” section.
Select Employee Centric Services.
Tap on View Passbook.
Enter your UAN number.
Click Get OTP.
Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
Tap Submit.
Your UAN will now be linked.
Step 3: View Your EPF Passbook
Once linked, you can easily check your balance:
Go to the EPFO section again.
Select View Passbook.
Enter your UAN and get OTP.
Enter OTP and submit.
Your passbook will be displayed showing all deposits, interest, and balance.
Step 4: Download the Passbook
You can also save the passbook for offline use:
After viewing the passbook, tap Download Passbook.
Choose the time period.
Tap Download to get the PDF copy.
