Television actor Dipika Kakar, who was recently scheduled to undergo tumour resection surgery, faced an unexpected delay after being hospitalised due to a viral infection that quickly escalated into the flu. Her husband, actor Shoaib Ibrahim, provided a health update to concerned fans via social media on Friday (May 23).
In an Instagram story, Shoaib reassured followers that Dipika is on the road to recovery. "To update you all about Dipika's health. Her fever is under control, and she is back home. Mostly her surgery is scheduled in the next week if all goes as planned. Please keep her in your prayers," he wrote.
Along with the update on Dipika, Shoaib also shared a moment of joy in the family as his sister Saba Ibrahim welcomed a baby boy. "As you are aware, Saba and Khalid are blessed with a baby boy. Please shower the newborn baby and Saba with all your blessings," he added.

Dipika, best known for her roles in Sasural Simar Ka and Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum, has taken a step back from television in recent years to focus on her health and family life.
A couple of days back, Shoaib took to his official YouTube channel to share Dipika's health update.
"Dipika started weaning Ruhaan and stopped breastfeeding him. From that moment, she began experiencing intense pain and lumps started forming. The pain became so severe that it led to a fever, which eventually turned into the flu. Her condition worsened, and the pain was almost unbearable," he updated their followers and fans.
On May 16, Shoaib shared an emotional video to reveal that Dipika has been diagnosed with a tumour in stomach. He also said that Dipika will undergo a major surgery at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai.
"Dipika has a tumour in the left lobe of her liver. It is bigger in size like a tennis ball. It was very shocking for us. We have to do a few more tests, but she will definitely undergo a surgery. Doctors have said that the tumour needs to be removed from the body," he said in the video.
Dipika and Shoaib are one of the most famous television couples. They starred together in the show Sasural Simar Ka, and got married in 2018.
In 2023, the couple was blessed with a baby boy whom they named Ruhaan. Their vlogs on YouTube are famous among their fans.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Dipika was recently seen in Celebrity MasterChef, but she left the cooking reality show midway as she couldn't continue due to health issues. Meanwhile, Shoaib was last seen in Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa 11.
