Parivartini Ekadashi 2025: Ekadashi Tithi is dedicated to the worship of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. Ekadashi Tithi has special significance in Hinduism. Every month, one Ekadashi falls in the Shukla and Krishna Paksha. October 03 is the Ekadashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadra month, which is known as Parivartini Ekadashi. According to religious beliefs, on this day, Lord Vishnu changes sides during Yog Nidra. Due to this, this Ekadashi was named Parivartini Ekadashi. Apart from this, this Ekadashi is also called Padma and Jaljhulni Ekadashi. According to the Padma Purana, on this Ekadashi, Lord Vishnu is in a happy mood while changing sides. In such a situation, whatever is asked from him with devotion, he definitely provides it. In the scriptures, this Ekadashi is considered to be especially fruitful.

Parivartini Ekadashi Date 2025
According to the Vedic calendar, the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month will start on September 3 at 4:54 am and will end on September 04 at 04:22 am. In such a situation, the fast of Parivartini Ekadashi will be observed on September 03.
Importance of Parivartini Ekadashi
On this Ekadashi, the Vamana form of Lord Vishnu is worshiped. By observing this fast, the happiness and good fortune of the person increase. According to a belief, on this day Mother Yashoda went to the reservoir and washed the clothes of Shri Krishna, which is why it is also called Jaljhulni Ekadashi.
On this day, in temples, after worshiping the idol of Lord Vishnu or Shaligram in a palanquin, a procession is taken out with drums and trumpets, which is watched by a large number of people. According to religious texts, fasting on Parivartini Ekadashi destroys all sins and gives the fruits of Vajpayee Yagya. The person who worships the Vamana form of Lord Vishnu on this Ekadashi worships all the three worlds and the Tridevas.
Parivartini Ekadashi Puja Vidhi
On this day, after taking a bath in the morning, meditate on the Vamana avatar of Lord Vishnu and bathe him with Panchamrit (curd, milk, ghee, sugar, honey). After this, bathe him with Ganga water and apply Kumkum-Akshat to Lord Vishnu.

Listen to or read the story of Lord Vamana and perform Aarti with a lamp and distribute Prasad to everyone. Chant the Panchakshar Mantra of Lord Vishnu "Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevay" using Tulsi beads as much as possible. After this, in the evening, do a program of Bhajan-Kirtan in front of Lord Vishnu's temple or his idol.
Worshipping Goddess Lakshmi along with Lord Vishnu on this Ekadashi day not only brings wealth and happiness in this life. One also gets a good place in the afterlife due to the virtue of this Ekadashi.
