In the holy city of Ayodhya, where over 2.5 million devotees are seen connected by the thread of faith in the 14 Kosi Parikrama, another grand Parikrama is about to begin. The Panchkosi Parikrama will begin at 4:02 a.m. on November 1st and will continue until 2:57 a.m. on November 2nd. This approximately 15-kilometer-long Parikrama is considered the circumambulation of Ayodhya Dham. According to religious belief, performing the Panchkosi Parikrama with devotion regularly grants absolution from all sins and brings auspicious results in life.

According to religious belief, both the 14 Kosi and Panchkosi Parikramas in Ayodhya during the month of Kartik hold special significance. During the Panchkosi Parikrama, devotees bathe in the Saryu River and then circumambulate the city of Lord Shri Ram. On this occasion, millions of devotees from across the country arrive in Ayodhya and, chanting Jai Shri Ram, embark on the path of faith with devotion.
When will the Panchkosi Parikrama begin?
Ayodhya-based scholar Pandit Kalki Ram explains that the Parikrama holds immense spiritual significance in the Sanatan tradition. The Panchkoshi Parikrama is performed on Devuthani Ekadashi, the day when Lord Vishnu awakens from Yognidra. Therefore, this year, the Parikrama will begin at 4:02 am on November 1st, and will conclude during the auspicious time. It is believed that this Parikrama is of the area where Lord Shri Ram spent his childhood, and that visiting and circumambulating it bestows the same merits as performing a Yagya.
Keep this in mind
It is said that performing the Panchkoshi Parikrama brings positive energy into life and liberates one from suffering and sins. Bathing in the Saryu River before beginning the Parikrama is considered essential, and the Parikrama must be completed at the same place from where it began, for its full benefits to be achieved.

   Strong security and administrative arrangements
In view of the massive crowd of devotees, the administration has made elaborate security and administrative arrangements. Special arrangements have been made for cleanliness, lighting, drinking water, and medical facilities along the Parikrama routes. Police forces and volunteers will be continuously deployed to ensure that no devotees face any inconvenience. Like every year, this year too, millions of Ram devotees will arrive in Ayodhya to offer their faith at the feet of Lord Shri Ram and earn the virtue of the Panchkoshi Parikrama.
