What will be the Indian team going on the England tour next month, and who will be made the captain? This question is going on in the mind of every fan at this time. Former selectors of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) gave their opinion on who should be included in the Indian Test team for the England tour. All three selectors were unanimous that Jasprit Bumrah should be made the captain of the team, although questions are being raised about his fitness.

After Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma retired from Test cricket, there has been a lot of speculation and debate about making Jasprit Bumrah the new captain. Many people questioned whether this was the right decision, especially when Bumrah was injured due to overworking in bowling on the recent Australia tour.
Who will be the captain of the Indian Test team on the England tour?
Even then, the former selectors agreed on their captaincy choice but their opinions were different about the vice-captain. Some wanted to make KL Rahul the vice-captain, while others chose Rishabh Pant, given his overseas Test record. Only one selector was in favour of making Shubman Gill the vice-captain. Reports say that he is the frontrunner to take on the captaincy role alongside Jasprit Bumrah.
Former national selector MSK Prasad was quoted by PTI as saying, "My captain will be Jasprit Bumrah as he has already proven himself as a leader. As far as my vice-captain is concerned, I would like to let Shubman Gill gain some experience as Bumrah's deputy. If Bumrah's fitness is a problem, my choice is KL Rahul."
Former national selector Devang Gandhi said, "For captaincy, if you do not consider Bumrah for leadership, it would be wrong. As far as Bumrah's deputy is concerned, it is time to show faith in Rishabh Pant as he has the best Test average in the current set-up. I will take six specialist fast bowlers to the UK, knowing that I have enough back-up for the five-match series."
Former national selector Jatin Paranjpe said, "There is no one more ideal than Jasprit Bumrah to lead the national team in Tests. My vice-captain will be Rishabh Pant, who has a good record in SENA countries. Pant and KL Rahul are two batsmen who have scored two Test centuries on England soil on the last tour."

MSK Prasad's India squad: Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudarshan, Shubman Gill (vc), Rishabh Pant, Ravindra, Nitish Reddy, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah (c), Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, Prasidh Krishna, Dhruv Jurel (wk), Washington Sundar, Arshdeep Singh, Abhimanyu Easwaran.
