How much is Archana Puran Singh's fee after Kapil Sharma's Netflix shift? Akshay Kumar discusses her paycheck

The final episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix turned into a laughter-filled affair when actor Akshay Kumar appeared as the guest. Known for his sharp wit, the actor engaged in light-hearted banter with host Kapil Sharma and his long-time co-star on the show, Archana Puran Singh. Their conversation touched upon everything from Kapil’s busy schedule to Singh’s paycheck after the comedy series shifted platforms.

Archana Puran Singh on Her Paycheck
During the episode, Akshay spoke about Kapil’s early days when he would perform as many as 80 shows a season. The actor humorously suggested that the reduced number of episodes on Netflix—10 in the most recent season—might have affected Archana Puran Singh’s remuneration.

Responding to the remark, Archana clarified that the platform had been generous when it came to compensation. While the number of episodes had dropped compared to earlier television runs, she emphasized that her fee had not taken a hit. Her response drew laughter when Kapil added that despite her pay, her household expenses remained low since, according to him, she had more domestic help than family members at home.

Netflix vs Television: A Shift in Scale
Earlier, Kapil Sharma’s shows on television used to run for longer seasons with dozens of episodes. With Netflix, the format has been compact, focusing on limited episodes but with high production value. While this led to speculation about reduced earnings for regular cast members, Archana’s clarification suggested that the move to a global streaming giant has only benefited the team.

In the episode, Akshay also reflected on how quickly time had passed with the show already completing three seasons on Netflix. He joked about Kapil’s pace of work, pointing out that within a year and a half, the comedian had managed to shoot multiple seasons while also becoming a father twice in the same period. Sidhu, who was part of the conversation, playfully added that such a record deserved a spot in the Guinness Book.

Akshay Kumar’s Dig at Kapil Sharma’s Café Incident
Akshay further took a dig at the recent firing incident at Kapil Sharma’s café in Surrey, Canada. The actor quipped about the comedian’s multiple ventures—from television to films to his newly launched restaurant—and jokingly remarked that even the café had become so popular that it witnessed gunfire incidents. Kapil chose to respond with just a smile.

Kapil Sharma’s café, which he opened with his wife Ginni Chatrath in July 2025, quickly became a hotspot for fans and locals. However, within a week of its launch, the café faced two separate firing incidents. According to reports, at least 25 rounds were fired during the attacks. The management issued a statement on Instagram describing the events as heartbreaking but affirmed their resolve to continue operations. They also thanked the Surrey and Delta police departments for their prompt action and the community for standing by them during the crisis.
