Three Assamese expatriates, who were with singer Zubeen Garg on the yacht before he died in Singapore, appeared before the special investigation team (SIT) on Monday.
SIT chief MP Gupta told mediapersons in Guwahati that others are also likely to depose before the team soon.
"Siddhartha Bora, Parikshit Sharma and Jiolongsat Narzary have deposed before SIT today," he said. Recently, Raj Kamal Kalita came to Guwahati and deposed before SIT.
Gupta said the Assam police has sent summons to all 11 members of the Assamese community in Singapore who were there with Garg on that fateful day. The request was submitted under the Mutual Legal Assistance treaty to the Attorney General in Singapore and they are hopeful of a positive response. "Our team is ready and we will leave for Singapore immediately after receiving the required clearance," he said.
Senior Congressman Debabrata Saikia has requested the assembly Speaker to institute a House committee to investigate the circumstances leading to Garg's death.
