Even the oldest videos on YouTube will now appear in high quality. The company is introducing a new upscaling tool that will make even low-resolution videos look HD-like.

Even the oldest videos on YouTube will now appear in high quality. A new feature is coming for this, which some believe will be the platform's biggest feature. YouTube is now introducing a new AI-powered upscaling tool that will make any video look absolutely high-quality, no matter how old or how low the resolution it was uploaded in. This feature is called Super Resolution, and creators will be able to opt out of it if they wish.

How will the feature work?

Due to advances in AI, it is now possible to upscale the quality of any old or low-quality video. For this, a model is specially designed, which can enhance the details of images and videos using pattern recognition algorithms.

The quality of all videos will improve.

With this feature, all videos on YouTube can be upscaled, making them appear sharper and more detailed. This will be most visible on large screens like TVs. Users will also be able to see whether a video is playing at the upscaled resolution or not. They will also be able to watch it at the originally uploaded resolution. Currently, this feature is being rolled out for videos uploaded at resolutions lower than 1080p. The option to upscale HD videos will also be available in the future.

Video rules will change from November 17th

YouTube's rules regarding content related to gambling and violent gaming are going to be tightened. The Google-owned platform said that starting November 17, it will restrict gambling videos with digital goods like NFTs and apply age limits to casino-style or violent gaming content.
