Arsenal are set to launch their new home shirt later this week ahead of the end of the current season and are expected to wear it on the final home game of the season, football.london understands. The new classic red and white design is expected to feature some nostalgic hints to the club’s past iconography.
After two years of a third colour featuring on the home shirt, in 2023/24 the gold trim celebrating 20 years since the Invincibles season and then the current campaign with the blue inspired from the club’s modern badge, this new design will return to the pure red and white roots of the past.
Arsenal have previously worn new shirts before the end of the campaign, this is not a new occurrence. However, the club did not repeat the tradition last season and against Everton on the final day wore the same kit they had worn throughout at the Emirates Stadium.

With the chance of winning the league on the final day still a possibility, they opted to wear the same kit meaning had they lifted the Premier League trophy, they would have done so wearing the kit they had worn as they won the title. This was despite the club announcing the 2024/25 kit three days before the final match of the season.
Arsenal’s last home game is not on the final day of the campaign but instead the penultimate match where they host Newcastle United. The game is something of a second-place play-off with Arsenal knowing a win over the Magpies would all but confirm second spot barring a disaster to already relegated Southampton on the final day.
football.london understands that after the launch this week, as has become something of a tradition, the players will be wearing it on Sunday. Mikel Arteta will be hoping for a big win after some tricky league form but the comeback against Liverpool certainly helped to lift the mood.
